Danny Ward has returned to Bolton after picking up a hernia injury whilst on loan at Coventry City.

The 19-year-old has returned to the Reebok Stadium and will undergo surgery to correct the problem, ruling him out for around a month.

Ward has made six appearances for Aidy Boothroyd's team this season and the Sky Blues boss is hopeful of taking the forward back to the Ricoh Arena once he recovers from the problem.

"I have spoken to Owen Coyle and Danny is going to go back up there to have his operation," Boothroyd told Coventry's official club website.

"Hopefully we will have him back as soon as possible, I do not know how long it is going to take, it will depend on the surgery, but hopefully we will have him back in about a month."
