Bolton travel to Burnley on Tuesday night, looking to advance into the last 16 of the Carling Cup.

Following Owen Coyle's defection from Turf Moor to the Reebok Stadium in January, a red hot atmosphere is expected upon his first return to the club.

The two sides played out a 1-1 draw in the Premier League last season, with the return game at the Reebok ending in a 1-0 success for Wanderers.

Coyle is expected to ring the changes from the side which drew 1-1 at Aston Villa on Saturday.

Matt Taylor, Mark Davies, Marcos Alonso and Rodrigo Moreno could all start, along with former Burnley favourite Robbie Blake.

Tamir Cohen is available again after missing Saturday's game due to the Jewish Holy Day, Yom Kippur.

Jussi Jaaskelainen, Gary Cahill and Kevin Davies are all suspended, meaning Adam Bogdan and Sam Ricketts should start, with Johan Elmander possibly leading the frontline.

Andy O'Brien, Joey O'Brien, Jlloyd Samuel and Sean Davis are all injured, while Ricardo Gardner is a doubt. Should he play, Gardner will be making his 400th appearance in Wanderers colours.

Burnley go into the game on the back of a goalless draw at Crystal Palace, which could lead boss Brian Laws into naming an unchanged side.

Ross Wallace picked up a hamstring injury at Selhurst Park, but has recovered sufficiently to be available for selection.

Chris McCann is the only major absentee for the hosts, with the midfielder out with a long-term knee injury.

Bolton Wanderers: from: Bogdan, Lainton, Steinsson, Samuel, Robinson, Knight, Ricketts, Alonso, Connolly, Muamba, Taylor, Holden, Petrov, Gardner, M Davies, Chung-Yong, Elmander, Klasnic, Moreno, Blake, Obadeyi, Eaves
