After being given an unexpected opportunity in the first-team, Adam Bogdan is looking forward to playing at Bolton.

Despite spending more than three years at the club, the Hungarian goalkeeper only made his competitive debut in the Carling Cup win at Southampton last week.

He followed that with a 55 minute appearance in the draw with Birmingham City, coming on as a substitute for Martin Petrov after Jussi Jaaskelainen had been sent off.

With Jaaskelainen set to miss the next three games through suspension, Bogdan will be between the sticks and he admits he cannot wait for his chance to shine.

"It's exciting. What I've realised is you don't get anywhere without hard work," Bogdan told the Manchester Evening News.

"Some keepers get a chance at 18 or 19 and play for the first team because they're so good or just get lucky with opportunities.

"But some have to do it step-by-step and that's what I am doing.

"Hopefully, I'll get where I really want to be sooner rather than later.

"The biggest thing you can learn is how to be professional.

"Obviously, we have a good relationship and if he (Jaaskelainen) sees something I didn't do right, he'll tell me."
