Owen Coyle has admitted he would like to keep Matt Taylor at Bolton, despite reported interest from West Ham United.

After falling down the pecking order at the Reebok Stadium, Taylor has been linked with a £2million move to the Hammers.

He was left on the bench for the opening day draw with Fulham last weekend, prompting speculation over his future, but Coyle admits selling the player isn't in his thoughts.

"He was on the bench last week, the first game of the season, and was involved in all but two or three games in my tenure," Coyle told The Bolton News.

"But I accept he was on the bench last week and he's a quality first team player.

"Matt knows how it works and that there are some very good players at this football club.

"He's a terrific player, and he has shown he's very much a part of our group.

"I'm not going to sit here and say if money was offered for any of our players that we'd take it. Matt is a very big part of our squad.

Taylor has made 98 appearances for Wanderers since his move from Portsmouth in January 2008 and has scored 21 goals for the club.
