Bolton host Aston Villa on Saturday, looking to make amends after a 5-1 defeat earlier in the season.

Wanderers suffered their heaviest defeat of the season at Villa Park in early November, with the club then in freefall.

Gary Megson was the man in charge that day but things have taken an upturn under new boss Owen Coyle, with just one defeat in seven at the Reebok Stadium - against Manchester United.

Coyle will have record signing Johan Elmander available for selection. Elmander was forced off the field against United after an aerial challenge with Nemanja Vidic left him requiring five stitches in a head wound.

Full-backs Gretar Steinsson and Paul Robinson are back in contention after injury and suspension respectively, meaning Sam Ricketts and Jlloyd Samuel could be dropped to the bench.

The centre-back pairing of Gary Cahill and Zat Knight will take on their former club, while another former Villain in Gavin McCann will miss the game through injury.

Stuart Holden, Sean Davis and Joey O'Brien are all out, as is Chris Basham who has suffered a setback on his recovery from injury.

Villa boss Martin O'Neill will hand late fitness tests to no less than five players, but with an FA Cup Semi-Final tie against Chelsea coming up, he may opt to rest some of his star names with one eye on that Wembley showdown.

Gabriel Agbonlahor, Emile Heskey, John Carew are all doubtful, meaning Nathan Delfouneso could be given a rare start in a depleated attack.

James Milner and club captain Richard Dunne are also struggling to be fit as Villa look to bounce back from their humiliating 7-1 defeat at Stamford Bridge last weekend.
