Bolton boss Owen Coyle has reserved praise for both Lee Chung-Yong and Jack Wilshere after their recent displays.

Lee was credited with a man-of-the-match award in the 1-0 win over Wolves on Saturday afternoon and played a vital role in the goal which Zat Knight converted.

Recognising that the South Korea international had become jaded, Coyle rested the player for the FA Cup defeat at Tottenham Hotspur and received the response he was looking for from the player.

"Lee is such an exciting talent and has played a year without a break," Coyle said.

"That is a big ask and he had lost a little bit of sharpness. That's why I rested him in the cup game at Tottenham in midweek.

"Lee is evolving, however, and recovered well. He is a level-headed young man, who is working hard. He is coming on a treat and could be a big star."

The Wanderers boss also believes Wilshere has a promising future in the game.

Having turned 18 at the turn of the year, he has impressed many with his abilities and Coyle hopes he can use the platform of regular football to make his mark on the Premier League.

"For the country as a whole that is the type you want, English players who have composure on the ball.

"He covered every blade of grass as well. Of course he has stuff to learn. That is why he is not a first-team regular at Arsenal. But that is not a disgrace.

"We will give Jack a platform as we believe in him and he will continue to do better."
