Coyle Focused On Survival

After seeing his side beat Wolves on Saturday afternoon, Bolton boss Owen Coyle believes the result can be used as a springboard towards Premier League survival.

A Zat Knight goal just before the break was the difference between the two sides at the Reebok Stadium and while Coyle admits he was disappointed not to have added to that strike, he was happy with the result.

"It was always going to be nervy when you're only one goal in front and both teams are desperate to get those three points," Coyle told Sky Sports.

"I wanted a second goal to see us home and dry, but we didn't do that, and while it's 1-0 there's everything to play for.

"I was really happy with the way the lads went about things today though. Their commitment and desire to win the match was great and I think that's five games unbeaten now at the Reebok.

"We're trying to build something of a fortress at home and we want teams to know they're in for a tough afternoon when they come here.

"It was a great three points and that win elevates us up the league, but obviously we're not getting carried away as it's only one game.

"February and March is not the time to be judged, I've always said that will be at the end of the season and we have to make sure we stay out of that bottom three, keep ourselves in the Premier League, and then in the summer put our own stamp on things.

"We have to continue this good work now."
