Bolton forward Johan Elmander has spoken of his current frustration, after being relegated to the substitutes bench in recent weeks.

The club record signing has failed to live up to expectations since his move from Toulouse in the summer of 2008, scoring just 8 goals in 42 appearnaces.

Wanderers boss Gary Megson has preferred on-loan Ivan Klasnic to the Swede, and with 4 goals in as many games, his decision has been justified, although Elmander has vowed to fight for his place.

"Klasnic has scored some goals so I understand if he (Megson) doesn't bench him, but I wish that I could start so that I could help the team," Elmander told Aftonbladet.

"It is a new experience to be benched. I might wake up one day and think how boring it is, but it hasn't happened yet."

Elmander has been linked with a January move away from the Reebok Stadium, but remained tight-lipped on any speculation.
