Bolton's game at Wigan Athletic on Monday night has been postponed due to public health and safety concerns.

An inspection was held just before midday at the DW Stadium, and, although the playing surface is understood to be playable, the surrounding areas leading up to the ground have been deemed unsafe.

With spells of heavy snow falling in the area since Thursday morning, the game has been in doubt for some time, and with public areas of the ground still covered in ice and snow, the Wigan safety team and the police have agreed to call the game off.

Details of the re-arranged date will be announced in due course. All supporters who bought a ticket for Monday's game, but will be unable to make the rescheduled date, will be elibigle for a refund.

Wanderers return to action on Boxing Day when they make the short trip to Burnley, hoping another game doesn't fall foul of the weather.
