Megson Not Looking To Sell

Gary Megson insists he will not be forced into selling Bolton's prized assets in January.

Despite being called up to the England squad on numerous occasions, Gary Cahill has yet to make his internaional bow and some reports claim he may seek a move away in order to further stake his claim for a World Cup place next summer.

While Megson admits he is prepared for bids for some of his star players, he believes it would take big money for Wanderers to even consider selling.

"I'd be very surprised if there were, if not bids, then interest," Megson said.

"The worrying thing is it doesn't always come to myself, it might go to Phil Gartside (chairman) or Allan Duckworth (chief executive).

"We need to make sure we are all singing from the same hymn sheet.

"There are players here who are, in my view, untouchable. We can't move them on, we wouldn't want to move them on because we want to go forward.

"Everyone does have their price sometimes but it does have to be a deal which blows other deals out of the water - like Cristiano Ronaldo's move to Real Madrid.

"From our own point of view we have players here who would have a high value if they were put on the open market.

"But we have to temper that with what would happen to our football club if we let them go."
