Bolton goalkeeper Adam Bogdan has joined League 2 side Crewe Alexandra on a one-month loan deal.

The Hungarian, who turned 22 on Sunday, moved to Bolton from Vasas Budapest two years ago and has yet to make his competitive debut for the club.

He is highly regarded at the Reebok Stadium, but with competition from Jussi Jaaskelainen and Ali Al Habsi, he faces an uphill battle for first team action. This has led to the loan move, which boss Gary Megson believes will provide him with some much needed experience.

"He is a good lad, hard working, and learning his trade and this is a good opportunity for him to get some first team football under his belt," Megson told the club's official website.

Bogdan is expected to go straight into the side to face Bury on Tuesday night.
