Zat Knight has admitted it was an easy decision to join Bolton and has set his sights on winning silverware with the club.
The 29-year-old signed a three-year deal with the club on Saturday and has already set his sights on achieving success.
"I knew that there had been some rumours and it was something that I was interested in because Bolton Wanderers has been an established Premier League club for a good few years now," Knight told the club's official website.
"The style of football that they play suits me - they are a hard team to play against and the Premier League is getting harder.
"I really believe that the club can achieve something and I know that the manager wants to do that.
"It would be nice to try and get back into Europe because we haven't been there for the last few seasons and to have a good cup run and win some silverware."
Despite being at the ground for Saturday's draw with Borussia Monchengladbach, neither Knight nor fellow summer signing Sam Ricketts featured, but the former Fulham man is hoping to feature against FC Den Bosch on Tuesday night.
"I feel that I'm perhaps ahead of the rest of the lads in terms of games because I have already played 65 and 70 minutes in Aston Villa's matches.
"I'm relishing the prospect of playing and I actually wanted to feature against Monchengladbach on Saturday but having only just flown in the evening before, the manager told Sam Ricketts and myself to rest.
"Hopefully I can play some part in the game against Den Bosch on Tuesday."
