Hull City have accepted an offer, believed to be from Bolton, for defender Sam Ricketts.

Wanderers have been linked with a £2million move for the 27-year-old and Tigers boss Phil Brown has confirmed an offer has been accepted, but refused to name the club who tabled the bid.

"We've accepted an offer from a Premier League club and it gets up to our evaluation of Sam," Brown told BBC Radio Humberside.

"We have allowed him to go and talk to this club."

Bolton are believed to have stolen a march on Premier League rivals Portsmouth for the signature of the Wales international, with some reports indicating a deal is already close to completion.
