South Korean midfielder Lee Chung-yong is close to completing a move to Bolton, according to his agent.

Wanderers have been hot on the heels of the 20-year-old for quite some time and now interest has been made public, Lee's agent, Kim Sung-tae, has hinted that a deal could be close.

"We are still negotiating with Bolton so we can't talk about the transfer fee," Kim said.

"However, it will be the highest transfer fee for any Korea Republic player heading overseas."

Sources close to the player indicate a fee of around £2.25million may have been agreed between Bolton and Lee's club, FC Seoul.
