Bolton have completed the signing of West Bromwich Albion's Paul Robinson on a season-long loan.

Wanderers had been chasing the 30-year-old left-back for a few weeks and had failed with two bids, understood to be between £500,000 and £750,000, with Albion reportedly holding out for £1million.

However, a deal has been completed, with the former Watford man moving to the Reebok Stadium on loan, with a view to a permanent deal next summer.

Speaking about his latest capture, Wanderers boss Gary Megson believes Robinson will add some much needed competition to the left side of his squad.

"I am delighted that we've managed to get him in," Megson told the club's official website.

"He's got a great deal of Premier League experience and is the type of player Wanderers supporters will like.

"He has a wholehearted approach to the game, is desperate to win and will be good in the dressing room.

"I signed Robbo for West Brom from Watford a good few years ago and I know him really well. He'll bring some competition down the left."

Robinson will travel to Austria today, linking up with his new team-mates at their pre-season training camp.
