Blackburn Rovers boss Sam Allardyce has revealed he has had an approach for Kevin Davies turned down.
The former Wanderers boss is in desperate need of a striker after the sales of Roque Santa Cruz and Matt Derbyshire, with Davies identified as a possible new recruit this summer.
However, Allardyce has revealed that his chairman, John Williams, made an approach to Bolton last week and a deal isn't going to happen.
"John told me on Thursday that Kevin Davies is not available," said Allardyce. "As far as I'm concerned that is it."
The 32-year-old Wanderers captain had a spell at Ewood Park earlier in his career, but scored just twice after completing a £7.5million from Southampton.
