Bolton can put any fears of relegation behind them when they visit local rivals Wigan Athletic on Saturday.

Should results go their way, victory at the JJB Stadium could see Wanderers mathematically safe with three games to go, avoiding any repeat of last season's dramatic escape.

Danny Shittu should return after missing the last two games with a calf injury picked up at Chelsea, while Ricardo Gardner is rated 50/50 after a hamstring problem picked up at Portsmouth a fortnight ago.

With Mark Davies, Joey O'Brien and Ricardo Vaz Te remaining on the sidelines, boss Gary Megson may name the same side that drew with Aston Villa last weekend.

Wigan boss Steve Bruce is expected to name Amr Zaki in his side, despite the Egyptian being fined for failing to return from international duty last month.

Mido may also come into contention after a shoulder injury forced him off the field at Blackburn last time out.

In 31 attempts, there has never been a goalless draw between the two sides. Hopefully, there will be goals again when the two sides meet at the weekend.
