Kevin Davies is hoping his form for Bolton will one day earn him a call up to the England squad.

The Wanderers captain made Fabio Capello's initial 28-man squad for the upcoming double header against Slovakia and Ukraine, but ultimately missed out on the final cut.

Despite the disappointment of missing out, Davies insists he is happy just to be considered for selection and remains hopeful that one day he will get his chance.

"To be honest, it's just nice to be in his (Capello) thoughts and plans," Davies told The Bolton News.

"Hopefully I'll get the chance one day, but if I don't, I'll just keep doing what I'm doing.

"Since making the last squad, it's been nice to know that he even knows who I am."
