Bolton will be looking to put distance between themselves and the relegation zone when they take on bottom side West Bromwich Albion.

The two sides played out a goalless draw at the Reebok Stadium back in August and a repeat of that scoreline on Saturday would barely help either side.

Despite lying in 12th position, Wanderers hover just four points above the bottom three after back-to-back defeats, while the Baggies have the unenvious position at the foot of the table, six points from safety.

Bolton have been dealt a blow, with January signing Mark Davies a doubt for the remainder of the season with a knee injury sustained in the defeat to Fulham last time out.

Joey O'Brien and Ricardo Vaz Te remain long term injury absentees, while Tamir Cohen isn't expected to be considered after being sent off for the reserves in midweek.

Fabrice Muamba is the obvious replacement for Davies, while Ebi Smolarek, Mustapha Riga and Chris Basham will all be hopeful of playing some part.

Andy O'Brien could drop to the bench after his poor performance against Fulham, with Danny Shittu and Sebastien Puygrenier on alert to partner Gary Cahill in defence.

The Premier League's bottom club have injury problems of their own, with former Trotter Abdoulaye Meite missing with a hamstring injury.

Leon Barnett is also out with a knee problem, meaning Jonas Olsson and Shelton Martis should continue in defence in what could be an unchanged side from Monday night's draw at West Ham United.

The game will see Wanderers boss Gary Megson return to the Hawthorns for the first time since being sacked in October 2004.
