Bolton will be without midfielder Mark Davies for at least a month after he picked up a knee injury.
The 21-year-old picked up the injury in an innocuous looking challenge with Clint Dempsey in the 3-1 weekend defeat to Fulham.
However, Davies appeared to take the full weight of Dempsey on his left knee and Trotters boss Gary Megson has confirmed the January signing will be on the sidelines 'long term'.
"Mark is struggling," Megson told the club's official website.
"We don't know exactly how long it will be for but we'd consider it long term.
"We hope he will be back before the end of the season. This kind of thing happens, but he will get over it because he's a young lad."
Davies moved to Bolton from Wolverhampton Wanderers in a £1million deal back in January and has made a bright start to his career at the Reebok, making seven appearances.
