Bolton boss Gary Megson is hoping his side can do the double over Stoke with victory at the Britannia Stadium.

Wanderers opened the season with a 3-1 win over the Potters, leading to some leading bookmakers paying out on Tony Pulis' side being relegated.

Seven months on, Bolton lie in 10th place in the Premier League, with the Potters in the bottom three on goal difference alone.

After victory over Newcastle United on Sunday, Megson believes Wednesday's visit to the Potteries is the biggest game of the season.

"Every game as you get towards the end of the season is absolutely huge," Megson told Setanta Sports.

"We said before the West Ham game that it was our most important game of the season, which we felt it was and we won that.

"But what that did was to make the next one our most important game of the season. Each time you play one and win, it just goes on and on.

"Now we play Stoke, this becomes our most important game of the season. It is the only one we can do anything about, but if we can get a good result here, then it enables us to push forward, which is what we want to do."
