Bolton host Newcastle on Sunday with both sides looking to put further distance between themselves and the bottom three.

Wanderers currently stand five points above the relegation zone in 12th position, while the Magpies lie two points behind in 15th.

Following the victory over West Ham last weekend, Bolton could name an unchanged side, with Johan Elmander expected to retain his place in attack alongside Kevin Davies.

Matt Taylor should also start at the Reebok. Taylor is just one shy of 50 club career goals.

The only other talking point would be in defence as Sebastien Puygrenier competes with Andy O'Brien to partner Gary Cahill.

Ricardo Vaz Te and Joey O'Brien remain injury casualties, while Tamir Cohen and Nicky Hunt could come in to contention.

Newcastle visit the Reebok with an injury ravaged squad and without former Wanderers captain Kevin Nolan, who starts a three-match ban following his dismissal last weekend.

Another former Trotter in Danny Guthrie will also miss the game with a hamstring injury.

Joey Barton and Michael Owen remain long term injury absentees, but Alan Smith and Obafemi Martins will be looking for recalls after recovering from their respective injury problems.
