Bolton defender Danny Shittu could be on his way out of the club after it was revealed he has been offered to Birmingham City.

Shittu, who joined Bolton from Watford last summer, has failed to establish himself in the first team and was linked with a move away during the January transfer window.

With the signing of Sebastien Puygrenier, the Nigeria international's time at the Reebok looks short and Birmingham managing director Karren Brady has revealed the player could make a switch to St.Andrews.

"Bolton offered me a loan deal for Danny Shittu, leading to a guaranteed buy."

Should the loan deal go ahead, it is understood a fee of around £2million could take the 28-year-old to the Midlands on a permanent basis.
