Former Bolton forward El-Hadji Diouf admits he is still in love with the club and could return in the future.

The Senegal international left Bolton in the summer, signing for Sunderland in a deal worth £2.5m, but has failed to hold down a regular place in the side.

A January move away from the Stadium of Light is being touted, and Diouf admits that he could one day return to the Reebok Stadium.

"I had a wonderful time at Bolton," Diouf said.

"I love the football club. I don't have any regrets that I left there and one day, why not come back to Bolton?

"I still like the football club and the fans and I even miss the Reebok Stadium a little bit.

"I threw my shirt to the [Bolton] fans because I know they still love me so much."

Diouf made 135 appearances for Bolton, scoring 24 goals for the club prior to his move to Sunderland last summer.
