West Bromwich Albion have rejected an offer from Bolton for midfielder James Morrison.

Reports on Tuesday claimed a bid of around £3million had been tabled for the Scotland international and Baggies chairman Jeremy Peace has confirmed he has rejected an offer.

"Bolton made their offer yesterday and we instantly rejected it," Peace told the Express and Star.

"We are interested in building up our squad and not dismantling it.

"If an opportunity arises for a fringe player to move on in a deal we find acceptable then that will be considered.

"We will be doing everything we can to try and stay in the Premier League and have no intention whatsoever in selling core members of the squad."

Morrison joined West Brom from Middlesbrough for an initial fee of £1.5million in the summer of 2007. He has scored two goals so far this season.
