Chelsea recorded a new Premier League record after they beat Bolton 2-0 at the Reebok Stadium.

First half goals from Nicolas Anelka and Deco gave Luis Felipe Scolari's side an 11th successive Premier League away victory, putting an end to Bolton's two-match winning steak.

Wanderers remain without a home win over Chelsea since 1997 and have failed to score against the Blues at the Reebok since 2002.

The hosts should have taken an early lead, but Kevin Davies headed over from six yards from a Gavin McCann corner.

But just after that miss, Anelka, who has a habit of scoring against his former clubs, opened the scoring, heading past Jussi Jaaskelainen after meeting a cross from Jose Bosingwa.

Wanderers skipper Kevin Nolan had a chance to equalise within a couple of minutes, but his shot was tame after a mistake from Petr Cech in the Chelsea goal.

Then, the visitors doubled their advantage. Salomon Kalou had an effort saved by Jaaskelainen, but Michael Ballack reacted quickest and headed across goal for Deco to acrobatically fire into the bottom corner.

Anelka had a chance to make it three, but he shot wide after Jaaskelainen had spilled a free-kick from Frank Lampard.

After the break, Deco had the chance to seal the game, but after being sent clean through, he sent his effort wide of goal, before John Terry shot straight at Jaaskelainen soon after.

At the other end, in a rare Bolton attack, Johan Elmander's shot appeared to strike Terry on the arm, but referee Howard Webb turned down the penalty appeals.

Cech then produced the save of the match to deny Gary Cahill from pulling a goal back, before Bosingwa fired over at the other end with Anelka better placed.

The game ended 2-0, meaning Chelsea break the top flight record for consecutive away victories, leaving Bolton in 10th with a trip to Aston Villa next weekend.
