Bolton midfielder Blerim Dzemaili is happy he is back in playing action after a serious knee injury.

The Swiss international signed a pre-contract with the club last February but suffered a cruiciate ligament injury prior to completing the move later in the year.

He was restricted to just one first team appearance last season, but after playing in both of Wanderers' pre-season friendlies so far, the 22-year-old says he is just happy to be back on the pitch.

"I need the games to get my fitness back," Dzemaili told The Bolton News.

"I was a year out, so I am happy to play every game. It is getting better but I know I have to do a lot more to get back to where I was."

Dzemaili was brought to the club whilst under the management of Sam Allardyce, but with all the changes at the club over the last 18 months, the promising youngster admits he initially found it tough to settle.

"It felt like a long time," Dzemaili spoke of his injury lay-off.

"Two gaffers went; Sam Allardyce brought me here, then Sammy Lee, so Gary Megson didn't know me and it was hard. It means I have to start again now."
