Bolton manager Gary Megson is set name Chris Evans as his new assistant (Performance Director).

Evans is currently the youth team coach at Wolverhampton Wanderers and has been at the club since 1990.

Speaking to the clubs official website, Evans expressed his delight at moving his impending switch.

"My reason for leaving Wolves is to work with Gary Megson, who I admire greatly. The opportunity to work with senior players in a senior management position and a top club like Bolton was too good to resist."

Meanwhile, Wolves chief executive Jez Moxey believes Evans will be missed and they are currently in the process of finding a replacement.

"I'm sad to say that Chris Evans, Academy Manager, has decided to leave the Club in order to take up a position as a first team assistant with Bolton Wanderers FC.

"During his seventeen years at Wolves Chris has worked tirelessly for the Club.Since the youth department became an Academy in 2000 he has been involved in creating what I believe to be one of the best FA Academies in the country. He will be missed but I understand why he has decided to join Bolton and on behalf of everyone at the Club I wish him and his family well for the future.

"No leaving date has yet been agreed with Chris and he will continue to carry out his normal duties up until his departure. However, as he is very keen to move to the Reebok Stadium as quickly as possible, I expect that once all the "loose ends" are tied up between us he will leave us shortly thereafter.

"The Board is aware of Chris's decision and the search for a replacement has already begun."
