It has emerged that a whole host of Premier League clubs are on alert after Jussi Jaaskelainen's contract talks with Bolton broke down.
The Finnish international is regarded as one of the top goalkeepers in the country after 10 successful seasons at the Reebok Stadium.
Jaaskelainen has been the clubs number one choice for the majority of the spell but it looks increasingly likely that this will be his last year with the club.
The 32-year-old is out of contract next summer and so will be able to talk to other clubs 1st January with a view to a free transfer next summer.
His agent, Peter Harrison, has spoken out of the situation and expects Jaaskelainen to move on to a bigger club when his deal expires.
"Nothing is happening at the moment, the talks have stopped and the contract offer withdrawn, that is where we are at," Harrison told skysports.com.
"It is only natural that clubs would be looking at Jussi, he is a fantastic professional and one of the best goalkeepers in Europe.
"And of course he would be interested in the likes of Arsenal and Newcastle, which player wouldn't be?
"But we will just have to see what happens, nothing has been decided yet and you never know what will happen in football."
