Former Bolton striker Les Ferdinand is confident Bolton can get over their disappointing start to the season and rise up the table.

The former England international has seen Wanderers lose four of their opening five Premier League games this season, leaving them in the bottom three.

But Ferdinand, who made 13 appearances for the Trotters, scoring two goals, feels Sammy Lee will turn the clubs fortunes around.

"Nicolas Anelka is capable of scoring against anyone and there are some big personalities in the dressing room," Ferdinand told The Bolton News.

"Having spent a bit of time with the players there, I know what their mentality and focus is. Gary Speed is a wise old head and with Kevin Nolan as the skipper these guys are winners."
