After catching the eye with a string of impressive performances at youth level, Gary Megson swooped to sign Mark Connolly from Wolverhampton Wanderers in September 2009.
The move was controversial and an out-of-court settlement of £1million was agreed between the two clubs, allowing the Ireland youth international to move to the Reebok Stadium.
In January 2010, he joined Scottish side St.Johnstone on loan.
