After having a bid of £3.5million turned down by Portsmouth in January 2009, it looked unlikely that Sean Davis would move to Bolton.
However, when the player's contract expired later that summer, Wanderers boss Gary Megson renewed his interest and Davis moved to the club on a free transfer.
He made his debut in a 1-0 defeat to Sunderland on the opening day of the 2009/10 season.
