Riga moved to Bolton in the summer of 2008 from Spanish side Levante, signing a three-year contract at the Reebok.

Levante had failed to pay Riga in over nine months prior to his move and had no choice but to let the player move on after he threatened to have his contract terminated by FIFA.

The Ghanian born attacker moved to the Netherlands as a youngster and has represented the country at under-21 level.
