Burnden Aces are fully committed to keeping your personal details private and confidential.
As an interactive fans website, we require details such as your email address for membership purposes. Such details are gathered from registration forms and are subject to the Terms & Conditions displayed on that page.
In the event of a competition being held, we may ask you for details such as your name, address and a contact telephone number, along with an email address. In most cases, competition entries will be restricted to the United Kingdom only. However, we reserve the right to change this and all rules will be explained at the time.
Who can see my personal details?
All information is only viewable by the website's administrator. All data entered into the website is protected using SSH and data such as passwords are hashed, meaning not even the administrator can view it.
In August 2008, we made the decision to hide all members' email addresses from public viewing. Users have the option to make this public in their profile settings, but do so at their own risk.
Will any data swap hands?
We will never pass any of your details onto a third party without prior permission unless we are required to do so under extreme circumstances such as criminal activity.
Data such as IP and/or email addresses may be passed on to other message boards without prior warning, but this will only occur in the event of banning orders and/or blacklisted membership accounts.
How can I protect myself?
By registering to our website, you agree to abide by the Terms & Conditions, leaving yourselves responsible for your activity.
We strongly urge you not to post any private details on our public forum. We also advise against doing this through the Private Messaging system incase of the unlikely event of a hacker getting hold of this information.
If you need to share any details with another member, please do this via email as it is the safest way of doing so.
Will you notify me if this policy changes?
If we decide to make any major changes to the policy, updates will be posted on the website. However, it is your responsibility to make regular checks to this page and keep yourselves up to date.
