Lee Chung-Yong followed in the footsteps of Nat Lofthouse and Radhi Jaidi by scoring in South Korea's 4-1 defeat to Argentina.

Chung-Yong, who had earlier been shown a yellow card, scored on the stroke of half-time in Johannesburg, making him only the third Wanderers player to score in the history of the World Cup finals.

His strike made it 2-1 at the time. However, an own goal from Park Chu-Young and a hat-trick from Real Madrid's Gonzalo Higuain put Diego Maradona's side on the verge of a place in the last 16.

South Korea finish their group fixtures next Tuesday when they face Nigeria, who lost 2-1 to Greece on Thursday.

Danny Shittu played the full 90 minutes in Bloemfontein as they surrendered an early lead to lose 2-1, following the first-half dismissal of Sani Kaita.

Kalu Uche had given the African's the lead after 16 minutes, but Dimitrios Salpingidis and Vasileios Torosidis struck in each half as Greece claimed their first ever victory at the World Cup.

Stuart Holden is expected to make his second appearance of the tournament on Friday when the United States face Slovenia at Ellis Park in Johannesburg, a game which could have huge implications on England's fate.
