There were mixed fortunes for Bolton's World Cup trio on Saturday afternoon, with only one being on a winning side.

That honour went to Lee Chung-Yong, who helped South Korea to a 2-0 victory over Greece on Saturday lunchtime.

Chung-Yong was substituted late on at Port Elizabeth, after goals from Lee Jung-Soo and Manchester United's Park Ji-Sung had given them a comfortable win.

The Wanderers midfielder was unlucky not to be awarded a penalty in the first half and came close to scoring in the second, but the result was never in doubt.

The other game in Group B saw Argentina beat Nigeria 1-0. Danny Shittu played the full game at Ellis Park but couldn't prevent his side from defeat after Gabriel Heinze's early header gave Diego Maradona's side all three points.

Stuart Holden was also in action on Saturday as a late substitute in the USA's 1-1 draw with England in Rustenburg.

Steven Gerrard had given Fabio Capello's side a dream start, latching on to an Emile Heskey pass to put England ahead with just four minutes gone.

However, the game ended all square after Clint Dempsey's speculative shot somehow evaded Robert Green, meaning both sides shared the spoils.

The Wanderers stars will be back in action on Thursday when Shittu and Chung-Yong should feature for Nigeria and South Korea respectively.
