Kevin Davies believes his chances of an England call-up have gone and he is focusing on his Bolton career.

The Wanderers skipper was in fine form during the weekend's 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur, with England boss Fabio Capello watching from the stands.

The 32-year-old was named in Capello's 'long squad' last season, but he believes his chances of international recognition are slim.

"There were a couple of stages last season when England named expanded squads which I was in," Davies said.

"But I was not used even when there were six or seven strikers missing. If there are that many people ahead of you in the pecking order there is no point in worrying too much about it.

"I am pleased Fabio was here but it is all about what Bolton do and I am sure he was looking at Peter Crouch and Jermain Defoe together."
