Coyle Steps Up Alonso Move

Reports on Monday suggest Bolton are set to step up their pursuit of Real Madrid defender Marcos Alonso.

Wanderers have been linked with a move for the 19-year-old full-back recently, along with fellow Real youngster Rodrigo Moreno, who is a forward.

Owen Coyle was linked with a £5million double deal, which would include a buy back option should the European giants wish to take them back to the Santiago Bernabeu in the future.

However, Moreno is keen on a move to Portuguese side Benfica, meaning a deal could be out of reach for Coyle.

Alonso, though, is understood to want a move to England and Wanderers are expected to make a bid in the region of £2.5million before the end of the week.
