Following advice from health and safety officials, Bolton have decided to ban vuvuzelas from the Reebok Stadium.

The instrument came to light during the World Cup this summer, prompting heavy criticism from players and fans alike.

Several Premier League clubs have already enforced a ban ahead of the new season and Wanderers have become the latest club to adopt the policy.

Speaking to the club's official website, Director of Facilities Jan Kozlowski said, "When we made this decision we also took into account the feedback we have had from Wanderers fans who indicated that they were not in favour of vuvuzelas at the Reebok Stadium as part of their matchday experience."
