Gartside Refusing to Panic - Monday 23rd November 2009
Bolton chairman Phil Gartside insists he will not be forced into making any rash decisions after the club plunged into the Premier League's relegation zone.
Following results on Saturday, Wanderers dropped into the bottom three and were subsequently beaten at home by Blackburn Rovers on Sunday, adding fuel to the fans unrest.
Large sections of the Trotters faithful have never taken to current boss Gary Megson and many were calling for his sacking at the weekend. However, Gartside has backed Megson and insists he is not ready to panic.
"The next few games are going to be important, as they always are," Gartside said.
"The season is 38 games and we are confident. We have been playing some good football, it's been decent stuff.
"No-one presses panic buttons around here. I have been in the game long enough not to do that."
Megson took over from Sammy Lee in October 2007 and recently celebrated two years in the Reebok hotseat.
