DAVO FOCUSED ON SEASON FINALE - Friday 9th May 2008

Bolton forward Kevin Davies insists his side will go to Chelsea and play for a result, despite what implications it may have on the title picture.

Wanderers go into the game all but secure from relegation, but after going unbeaten in their last four games, Davies wants to finish the season on a high.

"It's only goal difference now that can affect us so we'll go to Chelsea and put 10 men behind the ball," said Davies.

"Hopefully, if we do that we'll be okay. We have to go down to Chelsea and do a job.

"Once we've done that we can focus on next season. Three or four weeks ago we were written off when we'd not won in eight. So to turn it round like we have done with three wins and a draw is unbelievable.

"It looks like we're nearly out of it but now we want to finish well at Chelsea and put this season behind us.

"There's been things wrong this season, there's been a lot of change. Everyone knows what a difficult season it has been."

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson believes Bolton have nothing else to play for and they could relax at Stamford Bridge, possibly handing the Premier League crown to their opponents.

But Davies has responded to these comments, telling Ferguson not to go looking for excuses if they fail to become champions.

"You can sense that people think that Chelsea are going to beat us, but we are unbeaten in four and want to end the season unbeaten.

"United should have had the title wrapped up by now, though, so they will only have themselves to blame if they don't win the league."
