Bolton playmaker El-Hadji Diouf has arranged a charity dinner and ball to help raise money for the Dioufy Foundation.
The 27-year-old has set up the charity foundation to help children living in poverty both in the local area and in his home continent of Africa.
The dinner will be held at the Last Drop Village Hotel in Bolton on Sunday 16th March and will help raise money for a proposed new site for the Derian House Children's Hospice.
Diouf has got the support of marketing professionals and Debbie Brady of Halcyon Promotion in Bolton is anticipating a good night.
"It will be a night with the stars. We are expecting footballers, rugby players, boxers, jockeys and people from the world of entertainment," Brady told The Bolton News.
"It is going to be an evening with a difference. We want people to have a great time while raising money for a great cause."
Director of Halcyon Promotion, Sue Whittle, has taken time out from her schedule to visit Diouf's home country of Senegal and see first hand how the Dioufy Foundation will help. Fellow staff members from the company have also paid visits to Derian House to see the progress being made.
Desperate to get people on side, Diouf issued the following letter to guests whom are invited to the dinner.
"With your help, support and continued efforts and assistance, I know we can make a difference to children living all over the world. We can provide them with food, medicine and most importantly, hope."
An auction will be held on the night, with a day on the set of Sky Sports News one of the top prizes available to the highest bidder.
