Ivan Campo's first appearance of the season produced his first goal of the season as Bolton and Spurs drew 1-1 at the Reebok.

The Spaniard had been left out of every Wanderers squad so far this season and his shock recall paid dividends for Sammy Lee's side after they had fallen behind to a Robbie Keane goal.

It was the 26th minute before either side carved out any decent openings, with Robbie Keane picking out Dimitar Berbatov at the back post, but Jussi Jaaskelainen replied well to parry the Bulgarian's effort at his near post.

The visitors didn't have to wait long before they took the lead. Jermaine Jenas found himself beyond the Bolton defence but his shot was well saved by Jaaskelainen, Campo could only half-clear the ball and Keane volleyed home from 12 yards for his first league goal of the season.

However, the hosts weren't behind for long. El-Hadji Diouf floated a free-kick into the box and Campo outjumped the Spurs defence to pull Bolton level inside five minutes.

Spurs almost went back infront before half-time when Joey O'Brien tried to kick the ball out for a corner but almost succeeded in beating his own goalkeeper.

Nicolas Anelka was fairly quiet throughout, his only real opportunity coming in the 58th minute when he sent a free-kick straight into the arms of Paul Robinson in the Tottenham goal.

Confusion in the Bolton defence was almost the result of a second Spurs goal. Andy O'Brien cleared a cross in the area only as far as Steed Malbranque, who's effort was narrowly over the target.

Bolton had their next chance on 63 minutes, when a long-throw from Campo was flicked on by Davies, with Anelka inches away from making contact at the back post.

The hosts looked as though they would be limited to set-plays, and this was proved once again when another Campo free-kick was met by the head of Davies, who only found Robinson positioned well to make a comfortable save.

The best chance of the game came inside the final five minutes, Keane beat the Bolton offside trap but his effort was excellently saved by Jaaskelainen to force a corner.

Moments later, Jaaskelainen had an argument with Abdoulaye Meite, appearing to grab the Ivorian by the throat in a heated disagreement between the two.

Sammy Lee would probably have taken the result before the game, with his side giving a better performance than their 1-1 draw in Macedonia on Thursday.

Bolton now travel to Fulham on Wednesday for the Carling Cup 3rd Round tie, looking for revenge after they were beaten at Craven Cottage in the league earlier this season.
