SUNDERLAND v BOLTON WANDERERS

Bolton travel to Sunderland with the hope of recording their first away league win of the season.

Gary Megson's side suffered a 2-0 defeat at Everton on Boxing Day, leaving them without a win on the road in the Premier League since a 3-1 victory over Wigan in April.

Sunderland meanwhile were completely outclassed by reigning champions Manchester United, suffering a humiliating 4-0 home defeat against the club their manager made his name.

Bolton's problems from the defeat at Goodison appear to have continued, with goalkeeper Jussi Jaaskelainen a huge doubt for the trip to the North East with a wrist injury, Ali Al-Habsi could deputise after impressing in the UEFA Cup.

Nicky Hunt picked up a foot injury in the same game and will have a late fitness test before the game at the Stadium of Light.

However, positive news on the injury front for Megson is that Republic of Ireland international Joey O'Brien has recovered from a hamstring injury and is pushing for a start after coming on as a substitute on Boxing Day.

Keane has injury problems of his own, with Carlos Edwards (broken leg), Nyron Nosworthy (hamstring) and Russell Anderson (ankle) all out.

Liam Miller has missed the Black Cat's last three outings due to suspension and could come back into the side, while youngster Martyn Waghorn could retain his place after an impressive performance against Man Utd.

The last time the two sides met was at the Reebok Stadium in March last year, where goals from Kevin Davies and Kevin Nolan gave Bolton the points.
