Sky Sports News understands Sam Allardyce has cut short a family holiday in Spain, as speculation mounts over a possible return to management.

Allardyce has emerged as the front-runner to succeed Mark Hughes at Blackburn, should he elect to quit Ewood Park for either Manchester City or Chelsea.

Hughes has 'reluctantly' been granted permission to speak to City but it is understood that the former Wales boss is favoured by more than one key figure in the Chelsea boardroom.

If Hughes does indeed quit the North West outfit for neighbours City then Allardyce, who has made no secret of his desire to return to management, would seemingly fit the bill for Rovers.

However, should Hughes reject City and eventually move to Chelsea then Allardyce could also become a leading contender for the Eastlands job.

Steve McClaren and Paul Jewell are two other names to have been linked with Blackburn in the event of Hughes' departure.

Im sorta torn with this. On one hand id love to see him fail again as im still very bitter about the way he left us and i want everyone else to realise that by the end of his Bolton reign he was just as clueless as Sammy Lee. On the other hand i fear he make take the job and do well and knowing quite a few Blackburn fans personally, that wouldn't please me as they'd get a right laugh outta that.

Although at the moment none of them want him, can understand why really, so id be quite happy for him to get the job, just to really annoy them, even if it is only for a short while.

I'm not too bothered to be honest. Wasn't happy with the way he left for the barcodes but it's water under the bridge now. Time to move on.

Wouldn't be too happy with him going to jackburn but stranger things have happened. In all honesty, if he's given time to do a job, I think he'd do well for them aswell. Don't know how he'd fair without the money though because ultimately I think that was why he left us.

If you look at what he did at Newcastle when he was given money though you might say that it was a good thing we never give him too much. He bought some players up at Newcastle best described as appaling, namely Joey Barton.

if 'BS' goes to blackburn he isn't likely to be handed wads of money, so for him the job would be ideal!

if im TOTALLY honest i would feel rarther jelous if he was to go there!

he's bound to come back to the reebok to haunt us!

I do want to be lenient but nope, sorry, no links to "rival" forums.

Other clubs I'm fine with but no free advertising of Wanderers forums on here. People can make their own way to the site if they know the URL.
