Bolton bid for winger Riga rejected by Spanish club Levante

Quote
Bolton boss Gary Megson has failed with a £320,000 offer for Levante winger Mustapha Riga rejected.

Ghanaian-born Riga, who is also interesting Middlesbrough and West Brom, has not been paid for eight months by the cash-strapped Spanish club and hopes to invoke a FIFA rule which will allow him to leave on a free transfer.

Sorry did not see that Manny.

However it dose lead me to a suggestion - when you post a 'front page article' like this one, can you not also link it to a thread in the forum and invite people to view the forums debate on the subject - and add their own comments too.

It also as the added benefit for me as to see the thread in the forum first (which I link directly into) and thus saves me the embarrassment of making a double posting!   Embarrassed

I've looked into the possibility before. I used to put a comments feature on but it was hardly used so I pulled it from the site.

As part of our redevelopment, the news pages are now dynamic, meaning it is a set layout pulling the correct data from our database so any links to the forum would be the same on every page, unless a thread was created for every news article.

One thing I may do is add the latest posts to the news pages, just as on the homepage. Because I know not everybody reads every post.

We had a bid rejected on Monday but he may be able to leave on a free because he isn't getting paid. We'll just have to wait and see.

Nope, all quiet, just more paper talk I think. Most of the transfer rumours are just column fillers in the papers.

Check out the homepage of the site, any developments will be on there.

Napoli want Fojut now

Napoli are interested in Bolton Wanderers defender Jaroslaw Fojut.

The Poland U21 international spent last season on-loan at Luton and is rated highly by Trotters boss Gary Megson.

This wont happen since we're already short at the back and Megson rates Fojut. Plus its from Tribal so...

They've run out of names to link us with so now all our players are leaving instead.

Ignore it.

More from Tribal.

Racing Genk striker Elyaniv Barda is interesting Bolton Wanderers boss Gary Megson.

The £4million-rated Israel international is seen as a potential replacement for new Sunderland signing El Hadji Diouf and scored 16 goals in 32 appearances in the Belgian League last season.

Yet again, I've never heard of him!

It depends on which websites you believe. Hull fans have no knowledge of it and think it's rubbish because they've signed (or are close to) Marlon King for £3m.

He won't be going anywhere, he plays a huge part of our team.

Looks good but remember the quality of the league he's playing in.

Also, Genk have said they've had no approach for him. It's yet more Tribal rubbish.

Sunderland fans had no knowledge of the Diouf deal so City Hull fans knowing nothing of Big Kev is nothing new, Brownie could be playing his cards close to his chest?!

Hull's chairman has confirmed they've had a bid rejected.

The only strikers we have are Elmander, Davies, Helguson and Vaz Te. Riga will be here soon but with the other names there, I'd rather keep Davo.

I think the only club he'd leave us for at this stage of his career would be Sheff Utd and that's because he supports them.

Seb Larsson for 6mill...yes please!

Quote
Bolton capture Swedish starlet Larsson

Bolton have signed Swedish midfielder Sebastian Larsson on a three-year deal, subject to international clearance.

The Swedish international was born in Ghana but moved to Sweden as a youngster and played for Arsenal as a youngster before moving to Birmingham City.

Dont know the source, found it on here so dont know how reliable it is:

Interesting, although some Brum fans on there seem to think it's a fake.

I did hear a little rumour about this yesterday but it hasn't popped up on any websites. Guess we'll see tomorrow if that's anything to go by.

Would be happy with him though.

I've never really seen him but we do need a centre-back, especially if Meite goes!

Would be ok as backup but not got the quality to be first choice.

I remember him playing for Watford a couple of years ago fouling Idan Tal for no reason whatsoever giving us a 95th minute penalty. Comical.

As with any other rumour, I'll believe it when he's paraded in a white shirt.

Apparently had a medical tonight and finalising terms. £2m fee and expected to sign on Wednesday.

Surely this means Meite is on his way.
