Out of all the places to go in or around Bolton, why Daisy Hill? It's just a Westhoughton wannabe place Wink

Even I could afford a bedsit in Daisy Hill and I'm a student with no job! I know we were linked with him before but I don't really know if he's any good or not. Saw him score some decent goals last year from midfield, might be what we need.

Any tips? haha

Megson has today said he wants one more and its pretty much nailed on it being a midfielder. Looks as though Reading are finally giving in, Murty's going to Villa and with the Championship starting this weekend Coppell will want as few interuptions as possible.

Looking around the web it looks like either Harper or Larsson from Brum.

Bolton Wanderers boss Gary Megson has confirmed he would like to make two more signings before the transfer window closes.

The Trotters have already snapped up the likes of Johan Elmander, Fabrice Muamba and Danny Shittu this summer, but Megson still feels he is light on numbers.

Megson has confirmed he has money to spend on strengthening his squad, although he concedes he would rather have quality than simply bringing in bodies for the sake of it.

"I'd like to bring two more in," Megson told the Bolton News.
Numbers

"We've got a good nucleus of a squad now but we're a little thin in terms of numbers if we get injuries.

"With the money I've got to spend I could probably bring in 10 players but they wouldn't be the right ones.

"We want to bring two in, I'm hopeful of getting one but, if we don't, we'll just have to go with what we've got."

Bolton have been linked with a move for Fulham's Jimmy Bullard, although it seems unlikely Roy Hodgson would contemplate selling his talismanic midfielder.

From Skysports , although there is an article on the Bolton Website called Strength in numbers which is basically the same thing.

Who u think they'll be?

Bullard seems to be linked in quite a lot of places but I wouldn't want to pay £4m for him. He's 30 and has only just come back from a very serious injury that kept him out for nearly two seasons.

I would like to see a creative midfielder brought in and possibly a left back. Although with Helguson consistently injured and Vaz Te not living up to the grade, I wouldn't mind seeing a striker coming in as backup to Elmander and Davies.

A very reliable poster on another site (ww) as said that we have made a bid of £3 million for Bullard.

The ITK guy on WWs and The Mail both saying we've bid 3mill for for Jimmy Bullard, good signing IMO, if he can stay fit, and if he wants to come of course.

Bolton have made a £3m bid for Fulham midfielder Jimmy Bullard.

Bolton boss Gary Megson tabled his offer last night in a bid to beat Everton and Middlesbrough in the race to sign the 29-year-old.

In two minds. Thought he was fantastic when he was with Wigan but after he moved to Fulham he got one of the worst injuries I've ever seen and not made many appearances since.

With the Harper bid looking dead in the water, Bullard may be our only option, thing is, I see Fulham holding out for a little more than £3m.

If we get him for £3m that would be an unbelievable signing. He kept Fulham up last year, why Roy Hodgson would sell him is beyond me. He's brilliant at taking set pieces, he's just what we need.

Fulham chief Roy Hodgson is bemused by the ongoing speculation linking Bolton target Jimmy Bullard with a move away from Craven Cottage.

The Trotters are the latest club to have been linked with the popular 29-year-old midfielder.

But Hodgson insists there has been no approach for Bullard, who recently had a request to extend his contract rejected by Fulham's board.

"Neither myself nor (managing director) Alistair Mackintosh have recently been contacted by any club regarding Jimmy Bullard," he said.

"The only club I know that have made any contact, at least with myself, was Wigan - maybe five weeks ago.

"I find it strange that Jimmy is being linked with moves in the press when no clubs are making offers for him.

"It bothers me what's going on behind the scenes here, because certainly we aren't receiving any bids.

"Jimmy has told me he's happy to get his head down and stay, so I don't understand what's going on."

Megson has today admitted his interest in Bullard , if you go on skysports and watch the Gary Megson video he says he is interested in jimmmy but also has bids for other players.

also i found this on a wigan website:

Quote
Vital Wigan have been led to believe that close neighbours and our big mates from Horwich, Bolton Wanderers are about to sign Jimmy Bullard from Fulham.

Former Wigan Athletic player and Latics legend Bullard playing for the Reebok lot would be too much to bear for yours truly and this would be the worst piece of transfer news since we signed Pat Gavin in 1992

Please God No

Haha! F**kin HATE WIGAN!!! Be nice to get 1 over on em! Tongue

Megson says he would be interested if Bullard was available.

As for the "Wigan" website, Vital is run by people like you and I. How much a Wigan 'insider' would know is beyond me considering it's got nothing to do with them.
