No idea on the second guy...he sounds alright but emana is a good player who i'm sure would be a success in the prem. Would be a good signing IMO.

Poster on ww (Dr Whites) is stating that Achille Emana will sign officially on Thursday, with  international clearance and work permit all apparently sorted!

Don't know how true it is?

Well if he is going to sign on, I'd hope it would be at the weekend because the window closes at the start of next week!

Do you really have it on authority or is it just an educated guess because of the reason I just stated.

Achille Emana almost joined Portsmouth in 2007, but couldn't get a work permit, becuase he hadn't played in 75% of Cameroon's internationals in a 2 yr period.

He then retired from international football, so unless the work permit regulations have been relaxed, it might be difficult securing the necessary permit for him to play for us.

Apparently Sky Sports News is reporting we've bid 10 million euros for Veloso!

At the current rate, €10million is around £8.7million. Significantly less than what we were offering earlier in the summer.

I don't think we've actually gone back in for him and would rather we didn't because if he wanted to be here, he'd have signed months ago. Sporting probably wouldn't accept €10million anyway with the prices being thrown around earlier in the summer, that is unless they really want to get rid.

Would genuinly be quite strange not having vaz te on the books (or in the treatment room) looked alright at the end of one season been permanently injured since. Another striker going would surely mean beckford or someone is coming in aswell as emana who is a midfielder we have much more chance of getting than veloso.

Bolton will accept around £250,000 for the forward, who is back in training after making a speedy recovery from a knee injury and has one year left on his contract.

You mean Ricardo Vaz Te IS still alive!?!  Shocked

I'm glad we're being linked with attacking players, but we still need two quality out-and-out strikers IMO.

Emana could be a great signing.

However i am sure Smegson will stop his attacking midfield play and play him in front of the back 4.

We wouldnt want an AM to actually score some goals would we oh ginger one!

well if he can score goals like this for us, i would be well happy.

Oh for god's sake.

Why not get rid of Vaz Te when his contract goes, with Davies and Elmander our only strikers wouldn't it be best to keep him for a season and leave him to go then?

Not sure how long his contract is but we also have to take into account his wages - If he is not going to play him , as looks the case then fire him off and put his  wages to better use.

He's out of contract next summer. If he was fit he'd only play about half a dozen games tops this season.

Shame really. At the end of the 05/06 season he was on fire but then he was shifted out to the left and then suffered with injuries.

Huth to Stoke

http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11676_5514661,00.html

Chimbonda to Blackburn

Just having a think and comparing these too our signings of Ricketts and Knight?

All going for the same amount of money i'm guessing i;d rather have these two by a country mile than the two we hae got...thought's?

Huth no. Had a good season at Chelsea a few years back, but struggled big time at Boro and struggled even more with fitness.

Chimbonda would be a decent signing but he's one moody little bastard who spits the dummy and walks out of a club when he's been dropped.

Hows about Mary Spunkson!

Anyway, i agree wiyh Manny, Huth had a decent spell at Chelsea and that's about it, he is neither good nor bad.

And as for Chimbonda, has he spent a anymore than a full season at any club?  There's a reason for that, plus he wears gloves in summer, so for that reason iamout!

Bolton battle favourites Fulham for towering Red Bull Salzburg striker Marc Janko

Bolton have made a late enquiry for Fulham target Marc Janko.

Bolton manager Gary Megson is eager to bolster his attacking options and has been alerted to the possibility the Red Bull Salzburg striker could be available on loan.

Fulham are in pole position although Salzburg are hesitant about letting him go as they struggle to seal a replacement.

The 6ft 5in striker has been watched by Celtic and Blackburn in the past year.
