Well big game - but not a must win game - four others games to go after this one.

Villa not been doing to well lately - in fact not won a game since 7th February!

Bouma and Laursen are out with injuries - Laursen's being a career ending one.

I guess if there is ever a good time to be playing them - it's now - but will Gardner and Shittu be fit in time?

Every time we play a team who haven't won for ages, we get beat! I don't expect anything different tomorrow. Even though Villa have struggled for results, they've not been playing too bad, they just look short at the back and we need to get at them.

I'm going for 2-1 Villa.

I think Luke young is out tommorrow also so wont be surprised if reo-coker fills in even though he doesnt like it!
if gardner isnt fit id love to see riga fill in for him coz he aint really had tht many games to prove himself if not this game then maybe in one of our next games he should play, same goes with smolarek to try and earn a contact (although i doubt it very much)

Smolarek won't be here next season. If he had any chance of earning a contract then he'd have been in the team a lot sooner. Shame really because he's got a good track record and hasn't done too badly for us.

As for Riga, no thanks, shift him on in the summer.

Although it was only the start of this month, it feels like much longer since we last played at home (probably because we lost both our away games this month)!!

I think we can get a draw out of this. In fact, we NEED to get at least that! We struggle enough as it is playing away at Wigan, we can do without having to go there on the back of three straight defeats.

COME ON YOU WHITES !!!!

I really can't see anything but a loss in this game. Whether its our general record against villa, against the top 6 as a whole, or the fact they are not playing well (we are the best team to play when in one of these runs it seems) i just don't feel good at all about this game. Who knows though surely with their current form and news that their best defender may never play again they will hardly have sky high moral. But the pace they have may rip us apart as it has before. Especially with a not fully fit and out of form steinsson against ashley young.

1-0 villa i reckon but with my predicting skills no doubt we will beat them...heres to hoping!

I agree I can't see us winning this one, but if we could pull it off it would be a great win if we could get it. I hate to say it but for some reason I'm beggining to think about relegation.

I agree, There is very little chance of us coming away with 3points. Even though Villa are not on a winning streak, they are still playing well.
I would be very happy with a point here, but more likely to be a Villa win 2-1.

I am just praying all the teams below us have a rubbish day.

I suppose it was a good point today. Neither side played well but Villa edged it IMO.

Ashley Young likes to throw himself at the floor a lot though doesn't he!  Angry Glad Cohen got the goal, probably the most unlikely man on the pitch!

I think we will not lose now for the rest of the season - but I'm not the best for predicting.....

Anyway - the goals -

I think the wigan game will be like the same when we played them earlier in the seson,a scrappy tight derby afair where the 1 goal would be enough to settle it so i can just see us reversing that result and us edging it 1-0 with elmander back among the goals. Although theres a reason why i never win at the races Roll Eyes

Tamir Cohen scores the equaliser for Bolton on his first start of the season as the visitors secure a point in the 60th minute.

I really enjoyed today, Villa have a nice stadium there! It was great of them to give us three stands as well Grin

Good spot Craig!

Although to be fair to the BBC (where I got the picture and caption from) it was the second caption - the first had the following caption -

"Bolton 1-1 Aston Villa: Emile Heskey heads the ball under pressure from Gavin McCann during the clash at a sunny Reebok Stadium".

We love to draw with villa at home...was the obvious prediction rather than my pessimistic one. On to wigan who seem to have dropped out of contention for 7th abit so have nothing to play for. Will no doubt be a very end of the season game which either translates into a dull game or a fairly open nothing to lose game. Can see it being more like the first option with a fiesty midfield scrap with the local derby element (and thugs by the names of lee cattermole and michael brown) probably edged by the one goal. Maybe cohen can be our andranik of 2 years ago and win us the game.

I thought it was a good result for us and went home happy.
I'm really pleased for Cohen, always thought he had a lot of potential, hopefully he can push on.

We played well, Muamba had a good game. If only he wouldn't trip oer the ball in goal scoring positions!
Samual played well on the left against against one of Englands best right wingers.
Cahill played well against Carew and made Heskey ineffective.
Elmander did some really good runs, but he really needs a goal to boost his confidence. Man he is starting to get some stick of some fans.

On a sour note the Megson haters where out in force in the West stand lower from minute 1.
