No not happy just content with the small improvements since last season.

Yes i do think we will improve because i think we're only a few players away from being a good team which i have faith gary will target and sign in the summer which will improve the quality of the squad leading to better football and a better team.

Maybe your right and i am deluded though who knows will have to see next season.

No, not happy until we have broken into the Champions league - but then again I'm ecstatic we haven't been relegated and gone into financial melt down - Southampton anybody?

So I'll happily settle for 12th in the league.

As for improvement - we will be getting new players in - maybe even another big signing if Eddie stumps up the cash.  Once Megson finds the last piece of the jig saw - someone in midfield that can create the chances - then maybe, just maybe we can play a little bit more attractively and shut up the constant whinging from those who live in their own little worlds where money is no object.

118 - you don't have to answer this but do you buy your own season ticket - or does your mum and dad?  If you do buy it, is it an adult one or one of those £49 kids ones?  Do you have a job and your own place, or do you live cheaply at your parents still?

Point I'm trying to make is do you understand the value of money yet?

I think we have come a long way since Megson has taken over.

We where bottom of the league and looking like doing a Leeds / Southampton and dropping down the divisions.
We managed against all odds to survive last season and have progressed this year up the league.

I think it will be a slow building process top 10 next year should be the target and then hopefully pushing on for a top 8 place the season or two after.

I think there has been improvements in getting rid of the dead wood and a rebuilding of the squad has started. The average squad age has come down considerably.

There are actually English players in our side as well, which in many games with big Sam we didn't have 1 English player in the team.

I know the football hasn't been great at times this seasons and I have been to a few stinking games this season. Blackburn, Fulham stick in my mind especially. I think the football will improve with a couple of more creative signings.

The things is that I don't get is that some so called fans keep saying the football is poor, ok then lets play like West Brom and finish bottom? I'd rather win ugly any day and progress u the table.

Bolton Wanderers players effort:

Very happy! Delighted even. We have some average players, some world class players and the odd crap player as well. But I think the players give their all and always show passion and desire for the club. Middlesbrough & Newcastle are in the same position now that us & Fulham were in this time last season, however I have seen absolutely no desire or fight to stay up from either club. Our players have always shown that spirit, fight, grit and determination. Its one of the main reasons we're still in the Premier League.

Gary Megson, Phil Gartside & Eddie Davies:

I really can't stand Phil Gartside to be honest. I blame him for the breakdown with Allardyce. As good as we are now (and we are still a good team). We were better under Allardyce. Not to dwell on the past, we currently have Gary Megson. I dislike his annual attacks on the fans. Its very unprofessional and its still only a minority of fans who abuse him anyway! I think he plays overly defensive, so i'd like to see some more attack minded tactics from him in the future. I actually think when it comes to signings, Megson is an amazing manager to have! Matty Taylor, Grétar Steinsson, Mark Davies and Gary Cahill are fantastic players that I dont think Big Sam would have signed (Too young Grin). Elmander is yet to convince me, but i'll wait until next season to make a firm opinion on him. The likes of Shittu are IMO good squad players to have as well. Now, Eddie Davies. Nothing against him, but I am slightly worried by the state of his finances. I cant see him sinking any money into the club anymore. Although, i'm not sure a russian billionaire would be the answer to our problems either.

So basically the answer to the question is: I'm satisfied with the club at the moment.

I am going to evaluate my opinions like Craig has!

Players
Jaaskelainen, Cahill, Steinsson, Taylor, Muamba, K.Davies, Gardner - I have no problem with.
Cohen, Elmander, Samuel - All have potential - they just need confidence and a full pre-season.
McCann, AOB, Shittu, Riga, Ebi, Big Mak, Puygrenier, Hunt, Vaz Te - Not good enough and 75% need to go and be replaced for next year by players similar to Cahill, Taylor etc.
Players that are in their prime and will work hard for each other and the fans.

Staff
You will all no I am not Megsons biggest fan but I am willing to give him another season, he is obviously trying to build so I'll give him another full season and two windows to see what happens becuase he has kept us up twice and improved year on year (long may it continue).
But he needs to come out and try and unite with the fans - although he gets a lot of abuse, he is on a big salary to manage this team and I think he needs to try and earn the fans support and not have random outbursts on us like Craig said.
The rest of the staff I am not impressed with, I don't think the likes of Wigley & Cork are helping the team. In the past we have had the likes of Brown, Knox, Sbragia, McDonald and Sammy Lee (a sensational coach but not manager) and they obviously added huge quality, watching Cork and Wigley take the warm-up yesterday and they seem very unable and there are major issues with our team that they dont seemed to have tried to change. I think we are lacking in some quality backroom staff.
I also think that not a lot of scouting is being done, players like Riga & Makukula etc are not upto the grade - if we are to sign players they need to be quality players that have been selected.

Board
I have never liked Gartside but E.Davies has helped the club in recent years, but I think we need a £20-25m investment in the summer that will help complete the squad. I think it will be worthwhile as another will not be needed for 4 or 5 years so he wont really lose a hug amount of money and it will help us cement a top 10 PL finish, but I am quite happy with the bored.

Style of Play
We have some cracking players at this club who need utilising. Although we have played pretty well this year, i think we play to defensive - I would just like to see a more forward thinking approach.
A more attacking formation (especially at home), and more use of the wings - add a little width. Get the ball into a target man like Davies and have 3,4 or 5 runners of him. Players like Gardner, Taylor, M.Davies & Elmander are great with the ball to feet and Steinsson & Samuel can be deadly from an attacking position on the wings.
Change the style of play slightly and I feel we can become more potent.

Overall I satisfied with this season, an overall improvement on the squad and league position but i think we are capable of a lot more if we invest a little, become more adaptable and become a fitter side.

agree compeletly with most of what you say boltonmad. Dunno if we can replace all the guys you want us too so hanging on to AOB, mccann may be worthwhile just as squad players as we're hardly gonna get much for them.

Steve wigley seems to have a good reputation as a coach but can't say i know much about what he does. The manager needs guys he knows around him so will probably remain the same.

In terms of playing style i'm sure a midfield playmaker will be top priority this summer someone to dictate our play through. A huddlestone type who plays infront of the back four spraying the passes. Think also with the addition of a real right winger will add alot of balance to the team and quality balls from both flanks will provide good service to elmander and davies both pretty good in the air. Abit more confidence in his side may see meggo go for it abit more too. Especially at home where under allardyce we had a great record.

Cheers Djorkaeff and yeah I think the last point is key! To get fans on his side we either need performances or results or both and sometimes to the last two may be hard to come by so the first is a must!

I think if he goes by some of the points I mentioned in the summer then hopefully next year we will be a very exciting and rewarding year for Bolton Wanderers
